Yamaha SR500 1980
Street Tracker

Sr500 is one of our earlier projects that shaped itself along the way. Built to serve as a city bike, it turned to be a street tracker with an attitude.

Custom job explanation

-We fitted new rear shocks to rearrange the street tracker posture

-Shortened and reshaped the tail section with a loop with a bratstyle slope to give a reasonable clearance for new mudguard and also considering new rear shocks travel distance

-Fitted new handmade aluminum rear and front mudguards

-Relocated the electric components and hid them under the seat. We’ve also trashed the battery and fitted battery eliminator kit

-Rewired the electric and relocated the ignition key

-Made a custom brown leather seat

-Re-painted the gas tank and painted the Yamaha logo in gold before putting on the clear coat finish

-Re-honed the engine and replaced valves. Bored the intake from 34 to 36 mm’s

-Cut the old exhaust, wrapped the pipe in heat resistant wrapping, and installed a new muffler. Removed the old airbox and fitted a K&N Open air filter

-Renewed the spokes and changed the stock tires with wide Firestones for a bold, bulky look

-Fitted a 5” headlight

-Fitted new black steel footpegs

-Stripped down the chassis and re-painted it to deep black & relocated stop and turn signals with aluminum ones to wrap up the look
